01 / The proposition

A place to learn.
A world to read.

Aldenhaven brings gathering, making, combat and exploration into the same world. Mine ore and work it at the forge. Fish, grow crops and cook. Train your skills, equip for the road and discover the country beyond the walls.

Veldenmark has a history you encounter in play: through its people, its workings, its ledgers and the words carved into stone.

02 / A country with a past

Beyond the walls.

Workings below.
Roads between.

Aldenhaven's town square with its well, noticeboard, people and surrounding paths.
The walled capital of Veldenmark. A town that was a working before it was a capital.

The capital

Before the walls,
there was the quarry.

The first shaft was sunk before the first stretch of wall. Crownsteel paid for both; the coin struck from that seam gave the realm its Crowns.

The country

Each road has
its own character.

North, the haul road climbs towards the workings. South, the Common leads towards the Tilth. West, the reed door opens onto the Mereside. East lies the Wildmarch.

Below

The surface is
only one layer.

The world overview has a Below layer, revealed through discovery. Far beneath the surface, the Velt keep their green neverfire.

The project's route diagram shows named regions and connections, including places discovered later in play. It is a development reference, not a surveyed landscape.

04 / What the town remembers

One gate.
Barred at dusk.

East of the walls, the Wildmarch was farmland once. Then came the Wane: nine years in which the march country gave nothing.

Since then, the east gate has been barred at dusk and opened at first light. Nobody in Aldenhaven knows what caused those years. The country keeps its own record.

05 / A world in the making

Built in the browser.
Still being built.

Aldenhaven is in active development. The game already brings together exploration, skills, gathering, production, combat, quests and local saving. Its visual presentation continues to evolve.

The foundation

Plain JavaScript, Canvas 2D and DOM interface panels. No engine, framework, bundler or runtime dependency.

The craft

Procedural rendering works alongside local artwork. Development reviews examine materials, buildings, creatures, people and how they read in play.

The story

Established lore is recorded separately from technical state. Some questions have answers to discover; others are deliberately left open.

In development. No release date is announced on this page.
